Electromechanical constructions

INTRODUCTION

The laboratory has been designed in order to introduce students into the design of electrical machines in a completely practical way, based upon the theory presented in class by the professor, supported by the information provided in our manuals. Thus, from the beginning, theory is related with the practice that will be performed. The practical part starts with an electromechanical recognition, once basic skills are understood, it is proceed to design and manufacture teaching of such machinery, operation and implementation of test on each case.

LABORATORY FEATURES

The process of practical teaching of electrical machines is done in a didactic way, because it starts by studying transformers, which theory and design are the basis to build any other type of machinery, whether motors or generators.

The subjects of study are proposed as follows:

  • TRANSFORMERS DESIGN AND COILING minimum industrial equipment necessary for low-power transformers manufacturing. Kit includes mechanical elements for the assembly of single-phase transformers, as well as, three phase transformers.
 
  • ENGINE DESIGN, COILING AND RECOILING minimum industrial equipment necessary for motors and/or generators manufacturing. Kit includes mechanical elements for the assembly of single and three phase motors.
